[NSV] [PICS] Finally able to do what I wanted. Thanks, Keto!

At my heaviest, I was 265. Killed myself at the gym, dropped to 255-250, and that took very long time. I ate like crap. McDonalds for lunch every day. Had no issues chugging down a 2l bottle of soda a day. Plus, stresses from job that I hated, and it was a pretty shitty deal.

Around September of 2015, I came down with flu. I ate nothing, and dropped to 238. But surprisingly, kept it there, mostly by cutting out soda, replacing McDonalds with Chipotle. Weight never really changed. I accepted the fact that I will be a fatass forever.

One of my goals was to skydive. Only one place could accommodate me because they had a gigantic rig. But I wanted to have my own gear and not rely on others. Be able to travel and jump in more than one place. Finding gear that fits almost-240 is close to impossible. So, I found keto while browsing /r/loseit for inspiration.

I decided to be strict keto, to see if it works, or is it another bullshit miracle diet that supposed to fix everything, as you see advertised on TV and Radio. But to keep myself in check, I spent significant amount of money (a bit over 5 grand) and bought a set of gear that fits a 225lb person.

Last week, I hit 225, and kept losing. Currently, I am 223. What's the best way to mark the occasion? Finally use something that I spent money on. And on Sunday, I went out and jumped with my own gear.

One thing that is a very deep skydiving tradition, for every "first" you must buy a case of beer for everyone. Or a pizza. Or freeze pops. I bought two cases of beer, but had to say no to every offer of a drink with people.

I am 223 now. I am determined NOT to stop. My goal weight is 190. I will stick to keto until I hit that. And then, possibly longer.

Keto has been quite a lot of challenge for me, but also, it developed a sense of discipline. Instead of buying fast food, I cook my own for a week (sous-vide ribeye in the fridge, ready to be taken as a packed lunch for this week). I pay a lot more attention into what goes into my body. And I enjoy the hell out of seeing numbers keep going down on a scale.
