I never post pics of myself but what the hell, I'm proud!

One year ago my (ex-) wife told me she wanted a divorce. I was obese and depressed. I moved out right away and pretty much didn't eat for a week because I had no appetite. I was looking up what effects not eating would have on my body, and one thing led to another and I somehow ended up on /r/keto.

I liked what I was reading so I started a keto diet, followed the 5x5 SL program from /r/ketogains, and lost 55lbs in just under 8 months.

I have no idea if I'm in ketosis anymore since I've had more frequent sorta-cheat days, don't track my macros like I used to, and kind of stopped going to the gym. But since then, I've been maintaining with my weight at 153lbs +/- 2lbs from week to week.

I know when I first started the keto diet, I loved seeing progress pics. They were very motivating and comforting to know that there were many others out there that were in my position (or worse) yet managed to transform their bodies with basically nothing more than cutting carbs and increasing protein and fat intake.

Hopefully this modest before/after will motivate and comfort someone too.

The "after" pics are from about five months ago but nothing's really changed since then, other than me getting paler thanks to the cold dark winter.
