Let me know if I dun goofed anything! I can't wait to see if the comment actually goes up. Too bad all the paragraphs got merged :/

No weight loss on keto diets? "So-called inflammation?" No benefits to fasting? The science is mounting behind these realities so if you look anywhere else get ready for reporting whiplash - you may find Johns Hopkins and Mayo Clinic scientists raving about various low-carb ways of eating. If you prefer to ask celebrities, most of the healthy looking people on screen - from Victoria's Secret models to Hugh Jackman and Terry Crews - know that keto and intermittent fasting is the way to go.

I lost over twenty pounds restricting carbs and eating only in the afternoon. The first thing to go for most people when they restrict carbs is about ten pounds of water their body had been hoarding to help process sugars. What supplements did I need? Salt. That's it. Everyone needs salts, but you will need more electrolyte intake when restricting carbs. The only fat you should stay away from is trans fat.

Let me dismantle more of the myths. Grains are some of the most nutrient-bereft objects on the planet. The only reason they come "fortified" is because of that fact. A complete nutrition comes from animal products and dark greens. The Mediterranean diet originally came into the spotlight from Dr. Ancel Keys' research, but he didn't seem to care that he did his research during Lent. During Lent, Catholics (like most of southern Europe is) restrict meats and oils. The diet that made these populations so healthy, and still does, is based on whole foods with plenty of oils and meats. I'd like to know how restricting red meat is an "intuitive principle" when bacon is so popular!

How can a diet be "hunger-based" but eschew dietary lipids (fat) and restrict protein? Carbohydrates induce a rush of blood sugar and insulin, which leads to weight gain and a "crash" that you may have convinced yourself is a healthy afternoon nap. I'll let you in on another secret: Blood sugar scars your blood vessels. Cholesterol plaques aren't a cause of heart disease, they are a symptom. Reducing cholesterol with statins and diets will harm you. Some scientists are starting to refer to degenerative neurological diseases as "Type III Diabetes" because of the possible implications high blood sugar and restricted cholesterol has for protecting and maintaining an aging nervous system. One more kicker: the calcium from milk ends up in your organs and arteries instead of your bones if you drink skim instead of whole. Our bodies need fats to properly absorb most minerals.

A diet of "moderation" is also a diet of medication. It is a cheap and true-sounding lie to increase the amount of carbs we think we need. Our ancestors lived long an healthy lives before processed foods and grain-based diets. My medicine comes from the grocery, garden and freezer; why does yours come from the Rx?
