First, let me start off by saying that, yes, it takes a certain mentality to weigh yourself every day without getting discouraged. I do not recommend it if you get easily disappointed. So I did exactly that for the first 50 days.

The graph above is a daily measurement from my Fitbit Aria scale over the last 50 days. 5 measurements taken at the same time of day almost every day. The average of each measurement was taken and I deleted 4 of the 5 measurements furthest from that average as the scale is really only precise to about 0.2 pounds. The graph has 42 data-points.

I hope that it helps everyone visualize what happens to a person's weight day by day, and more importantly, shows the overall downward trend despite all the crazy waves and spikes. Everybody talks about how weight varies day to day, and I think this graph can help put that into perspective.

There were days I was discouraged, and days where I lost my motivation upon seeing the scale creep back up. But I stuck to my macros, KCK'edO, and the downward trend continued. I have a long way to go to reach my goal. I could set higher weight goals, but every 10 pounds is a victory, and I welcome the ongoing challenge that I know will take the better part of two years.

Weighing yourself every day is not for everybody. But I hope this short excerpt will show what really does happen to the body as you lose weight, and why you should not worry what happens on that scale everyday.

If you stick to your macros, follow the science, and KCKO, you will succeed :)
