I've struggled for years with trying to lose weight. Sometimes it worked for a while and then I just sorta slipped back into bad habits. Last year I drank about a bottle of light (pepsi max) every day, I weren't sleeping well and the sweetners were wrecking havoc on my hunger, so I decided firmly to limit my consumption of Soda to a maximum of two bottles per week, that quickly became a bottle every two days.
I've been looking over keto and after a lot of calculating I've decided that the best way to deal with it is to quit completely. No more soda at all. Water and sparkling water. Today I scoured my kitchen and gave away all of the products that were too high in carbs. Then I went shopping and right now I'm making some delicious low carb lettuce wrap burgers for dinner.
As of right now, I am 29 years old, I weigh 170 kg, and I'm of average height. I need to make this change if I want to stick around.
I've read up on what sort of food to buy, to anticipate the flu like symptoms for a few days and that it's going to take a few weeks. Right now I am limiting myself to a maximum of 50 carbs per day, just to get into it, then hopefully I am going down to 20 carbs once I have everything in order.
Any advice or suggestions from those who's been doing this for a while? Anything to watch out for?
