I have been overweight since I was age 7, when I first began living with my mother. She removed me from my grandparents home in california where I had been raised on a vegan diet and very active. I moved to moved to Missouri where I began eating very poorly. Canned everything, Mac and cheese with those cheap Frank's from the dollar store was a common dinner, and lots of junk food. I ballooned in size. My mother always brougt it up like she was disappointed in me so of course then depression then binge eating followed by periods of not eating at all. I only continued to gain weight, slowly but it seemed like an inevitable future to end up like my mother and her mother. All other diet changes I failed at because of binge eating. I have been on Keto for 4 weeks now. By this time all others I had failed at. Keto has changed the way my body functions. I have less pain in my back and neck, which allows me to be more active. These last two weeks has been especially challenging. I have had a monstrous toothache, and fallen behind in my classes. Normally by this time I would have said fuck the diet. Now I am wanting to take the time to follow my new eating habits, I haven't broken once and I caught up in my classes. I know now that keeping at this is what makes me feel better, what changes so many problems I have just because I am overweight. I am more motivated now than I have ever been. I have not had the urge to binge once and that is a relief I have never felt before.
