I think it was partly because he was drunk, but it still made me feel great.
I haven't seen him for a few months. Went out to the local bar to grab a drink with a buddy after work on Saturday night, and he was sitting caddy-corner to me at the rail. I asked him how things were going with school and work. Then 30 minutes later, I talked to him again and his eyes lit up and he says "Whoa! huffingtoncoast!? I didn't recognize you earlier!"
This is happening a lot lately. I'm at about the 3 month and 35-40 lbs down mark, so compliments are coming my way regularly. My favorite is "You look healthy." That really warms me up.
