I am officially one month into keto and have found great success. I started due to a recommendation from a friend. I was terribly concerned about my severe hypertension that I was diagnosed with when my now 9 month daughter was born. My mother died at 56 and my brother at 32 from heart disease and I was worried that I would not have many years left.
I found this sub and immediately began to take action. I was so inspired by all of the progress pictures that it kept me going. Every morning I wake up and immediately spend 5 minutes scrolling through. Thank you, all!
Today is the day I call my doctor to start weening off of my 20 mgs of Lisinopril. I was on 40 mgs when I began keto. My BP was running anywhere between 160/90 to 180/102. It is now at 90/64. So, I'm pretty excited to get off the meds that my doctor had assured me I would be on for the rest of my life.
The weight loss has been easy and I'm thrilled to watch it all melt away. I am 28 lbs away from my goal.
