I started keto on Monday, and have genuinely been enjoying it. The food has been really tasty, and I oddly haven't missed carbs/sugar too much... and so far, no issues with keto flu (I've been really proactive about replenishing electrolytes). That being said, I weighed myself this morning and I'm down from 408 (my SW) to 398.8! I know I have a very, very long way to go, longer than most who start this way of eating, but I'm really happy I'm seeing progress already and hitting small goals. I've been tracking everything in MFP (just saying under 25g net carbs and the rest is protein and fat), I document all of my meals on instagram and always write up about my meal/how I'm feeling, and I'm just doing what I can to set myself up for success.
I have struggled with my weight my whole life, and have lost some and gained it back a few times... but this is the first time I feel satiated after meals and don't feel deprived of things. I've had a few people suggest weight-loss surgery in the past but I have always felt like I have to want this, I have to work for this, and I want to do this without surgery. I feel so optimistic about this really sticking and working for me this time. I know I'm in the honeymoon phase still, and a lot of this is water weight, but I'm still really stoked and wanted to share my mini-victory with fellow keto peeps. I can't wait to see where this adventure takes me. :)
