Starting Stats:

Weight: 352 BMI: 49.08 200 days later: Weight: 250.6 BMI: 34.86 % of initial weight lost: 28.8%

I'm finally looking forward to summer for once and not doing anything I can to avoid the pool. That's huge for me. I have felt bad the last few years about not wanting to get in the water with my kids because of my weight. While I've still got a little ways to go yet, I can't believe how far I've come and the difference that other can see in me.

Before I started keto, progress posts played a big part in taking me from uncertainty around the feasibility of adhering to such a "strict" diet long term to really believing that I could do it. Hoping that I can also help show others that it's doable! Given what I know now about how high carb loads affect my body, I can't see ever going back to the SAD (aptly named Standard American Diet).

While the rate of loss is slowing (as expected), I am still surprised that it's happening as quickly as it is. Not trying to humblebrag, I just keep expecting to stall and it hasn't happened for more than a few days thus far. I'll keep sticking to my existing plan as long as it's working. I do re-evaluate every 20lbs or so with the keto calculator to ensure my macros are properly aligned.

What a typical day looks like for me (lazy keto style):
Breakfast: I do Intermittent Fasting during the week, but will eat if I'm truly hungry as that's usually my body telling me that I should listen.
Lunch: Ketochow + 4-5oz cheese or salami
Dinner: Whatever my wife makes or I grill. Usually cauliflower/broccoli or a salad alongside
Dessert: 1/2 pint Halo Top + 1/4 heavy cream or chocolate peanut butter mousse.

This has been a team effort. My wife has been very encouraging throughout this process and it's meant a lot to have her onboard the keto train too. The kick-butt food she makes sure helps as well! We're down more than 130lbs as a couple so far. w00t!

If you're still reading this, you can do it! Stay the course. Keto works if you stick with it.
