i had done keto in the past - about 17 years ago and lost about 55 lbs. life happened and i gained 125 lbs over time. i was feeling tired and angry all the time and unhappy with my weight. i have struggled with weight loss and been unsuccessful with CICO and exercise for various reasons.
i finally committed to doing keto again and started one week ago. scale is down 9 lbs already. which can of course only be water weight, but it's pretty damn motivating anyway. so i'm feeling pretty good about that.
anyway, i didn't have reddit years ago, only my mom and taking to her about weight/diet is almost universally uncomfortable and problematic, so this is a major upgrade.
what i remember about keto from my previous experience was awesome weight loss, decreased appetite which was 100% key, and god awful constipation. i have been looking forward to the first two at least.
anyway. you have already improved my experience so far. i wanted to say thanks reddit for the support. especially for telling me about electrolytes so the that when i felt crappy on days 2-5 i drank power ade and chicken broth and instantly felt better. and thanks also for telling me about magnesium which has fixed the constipation that was already starting and also solved the palpitations/insomnia at night.
coming here every day has been a real help and your success stories a real motivation.
