Three people last week told me that I look younger than I used to. And I feel younger, too.
I've been doing keto, mostly lazy, sometimes strict, for a year and a half. The first 50 pounds came off in five months. IF (18:6 mostly) started about the same time.
Then I started experimenting with carb tolerance, eating moderate low-carb. My T2 diabetes was incredibly improved (no symptoms, a1c 4.9-5.1 for a year now). But eventually I could not eat carbs even moderately (more than 100g/day) without spiking blood sugar into pre-diabetic levels. So back to keto.
Through these carb "experiments" I gained and lost the same 15 pounds three times. Now finally I'm over the plateau that seemed impossible for a year.
My BMI is officially normal, my pants size is back to what it was in my teens, and I have energy to do HIIT and simple bodyweight resistance exercises every day. I sleep better, and need less of it (I can't stay in bed as long as I used to, I have too much energy).
Keto/IF for life. It's what makes my body and mind happy.
